Birthday Cake

Due to lack of planning on my part Alex didn't get a birthday cake until Sunday one day after his birthday.  He wanted a snake cake.  It didn't turn out how I wanted but it was good to eat.  He helped me decorate it but I think he just ate lots of m&m's.

Make a wish my 5 year old.  We love you Alex and so happy your part of our family.  Alex keeps us on our toes with the things he says and how he interrupts what we say.  One of my favorite sayings he said to Grandpa Kit
"Alex what do you live on"  Alex wasn't eating very good at one of Grandpa's visits.
"Earth" - Alex replies.
Still cracks me up.

Happy 5th Birthday Alex

For Alex's birthday he really want to see an alligator.  So we headed to Savanna Georgia to find alligators.  Luckly it gets to cold here in the winter time for gators.  I am find with that.  First present.
 Bumblebee
Star Wars legos.  Alex also got two jets, a placemat with his hand prints - which he keeps telling everyone that his hands are bigger now (not by much), money for Grandma Sue and Grandpa Kit and Granny Janney - he bought Star Scream transformer which was on sell so he had money left over, and a book.
Trinity so happy that we did not go swimming again before we left the motel.  Look at that face.  We made huge accomplishments in the pool.  It was shallow enough that Alex could touch to almost to the middle of the pool.  So he decided he could jump off the side.  Well he did and sat at the bottom of the pool.  He comes up saying I jumped and sat at the bottom of the pool.  Allan was standing close so I said why not jump and swim to daddy this time.  So Alex who is afraid to get water in his eyes and let go of the side, jumps in and starts to swim.  Are you kidding me.  No pictures due to the fact three kids and two adults in a pool makes for a very buys time.  Trinity made good progress too with her fear of the water.  She calls it going under ground but she put her whole head under.  Amazing.  Then she got to brave and starting walking to the middle of the pool which wasn't good because she wasn't tall enough.  She swallowed some water.  Now Aubrie and water is a different story.   This girl is dangerous.  I think I would take Alex and Trinity's fear of the water than Aubrie's no fear at all.  She was playing on the stairs and nex thing I know she is walking out to me.  Head under water and everything.  I pull her up and she is just smiling.  Not even mad.  We are in trouble.
So on our way to Alligators we thought we would go see the light house that was near by.  Pretty cool.
We got to climb to the very top twice.  It was cool.  Nice and windy but it felt so good.  91 degrees and humid.  No thank you.  I need to find cooler lose fitting clothes with this weather and it isn't even summer yet.

At the beach.  Lots of shells.

 We are up there.
Here is Alex's favorite present the baby alligator.  We just were at some pond and there was an alligator.  We think there was a bigger one but we never got a chance to see it up close.  This one just hung around the dock.  Allan took some awesome pictures - I mean a millon awesome pictures of the alligator.

I think this is a sand crane but once again Allan took awesome pictures of the wildlife.
The kids love the gator and I was just happy we saw it because that made Alex's day.  Happy 5th Birthday Alex!

Play group

In Aiken we do play group and go to different places around the city.  It has been a lot of fun because we do things that I didn't know about or going to come of our favorite place.  Like Hopeland Gardens.  This is what we found right at the enterance.  I don't love snakes but this was cool.  At least nobody wanted to catch it.

Climbing trees.  They have the best trees to climb.  Not many pictures at this play group due to the fact that I was chasing Aubrie most of the time.  Fun day.

The pictures our kids take

While walking around our new house property I let Alex and Trinity take pictures with the camera.  Here is some of the shots we got.  Surprisingly there are some really good shots.
 Sidewalk or porch
The dirt or sand.  Really sandy
The backyard.  We are lucky that this is what the back looks like and we are hoping they won't build behind us.
 Look at those legs
Wow awesome picture.  Yes I have pinky!!  Aubrie likes it but once she got out side and some freedom she dropped it.  I gladly picked it up.
Taking a picture of the inside of the house and this is what he got.  Kinda cool.

Hopeland Gardens

So before I start telling you about our favorite free place to go or at least one of them, everytime we go to Hopeland Gardens we forget our camera and just have our phones.  Well this time I remember the camera but it is broken.  It would take pictures but I couldn't see what I was taking pictures of.  So it is very amazing that I got any pictures to turn out.  This picture is for Grandma Sue in front of the irises.
And the turtles sunbathing.  It is so fun to watch them swim.  If you sit on the bank they will come to you thinking you are going to feed them.  One day we will remember food.
Checked out the rose garden.  Very pretty.  Makes me want to grow roses.
Had to talk Alex into this picture.  Trinity was too busy pushing the stroller.
I love these roses but I didn't get a good picture.  Aubrie just wanted to run so it was a good catch.
Aubrie really like the angel.  She is getting so big.  She knows what she wants and unfortunately knows how to get what she wants.  Kids are so smart.
Alex pointing our all the cool fishes that he wanted to catch with his hands.  He is still mad that I wouldn't let him catch a fish with his hands.
Trinity found a huge turtle.  She just really wanted to throw rocks.

Cute dog pictures.  Alex was mad because I told him not spitting.
There are some amazing trees to climb in the gardens.  We will have lots of fun climbing trees.
Here is the lizard Alex caught.  Funny story.  I was watching Aubrie and Trinity, Alex got ahead of his and yelled mom a lizard.  Catch it!  Next thing I know Trinity is running to me scared and Alex is shouting I caught a lizard.  No way.  I just thought he wouldn't be able to catch it.  He is showing me but wouldn't lift it too high but he caught it all on his own.  Pretty cool.  He couldn't stop saying everyone should be so happy because I caught a lizard.  He even knows how.  When it is not looking.  Just so you know it isn't just any lizard it is a dragon lizard.  I image we are going to be going a lot to the gardens to catch lots of lizards.

Lobster Races

I didnt realize that the lobster races were this night so I made ribs.  Pretty good.  Still need lots of practice.  Trinity enjoying some of them before we go.
Aubrie entertaining herself while we wait for the races to start.
Trinity being famous.  They had the kids thing you could go do.  She loved it.
Aubrie did too.  Playing while everyone was on stage.  Freedom of not having to stay with mommy.
So here is what the lobster races look like.  Pretty silly.  You can't really see unless you were Aubrie and Alex sitting on our shoulders.  It would be fun if you had a lobster but $135 no thanks.  Not much else to do unless you are drinking beer and listening to music.  Which not doing with kids or ever so not really worth going.  Yep check that on list of things wanted to do just because it sounds silly but not worth going again.

Pool Party

Every week the moms in chruch have a play date.  Today we went for a pool party.  The kids had so much fun.  Alex loved the slide.  Even with the cold water.  He didn't even want to eat.

Just trying to lock Aubrie up for a few minutes.  She ate dirt.  Threw dirt in the pools and loved it.
Look at that cute girl!!  She had fun playing with everything but the pools.  Too cold for her.  So much fun!
