Painting the house

They painted at our house last week. Wow! that is a strong smell even after they have been done for a day. The trim and the walls are different color. It is not a big difference but enough so that it is not all white or cream. I think I did a pretty good job picking out the colors seeing that I never saw the wall color. I sometimes trust in others too much but this time it paid off. I painted Donovan's room but I now know why Allan never let me paints allow. First, I don't have paitence to tape the ceiling and doors so that gets me in trouble because I don't have steady hand to do a good job when I want to just get it done. In the pictures you can't tell but if you look it is a disaster. Then I put one coat of stain on the door and yesterday did another coat. You can tell a difference in the pictures.

Alex and the bathtub

As I was getting dinner ready I failed to shut the bathroom door and found Alex in the bathtub pretending to clean it. Don't ask me why this kid loves the bathroom if it is not playing in the toliet it is playing in the bathtub. He got the idea of how to get in the tub by using his stole. He pretends to go to the bathroom and I have him use the stool, well he found a better use for the stool than helping him read the potty. I think I am in for in when I move to a new house with three bathrooms.

Finally

THE FLOORS ARE DONE!!!!! Yippie.Allan finished them today this afternoon. He was way excited. Me too but I have a filling that we are still going to be spending lots of time up there instead of it getting done any faster. That's how it goes.

It's a GIRL

Yep! We are having a baby and it is a girl. Help! Allan is super excited. Since we found out we were pregnant Allan hasn't stop talking about how this one is going to be a girl and how much he needs a girl. Me on the other hand continued to tell him are you sure you want a girl. You have do their hair, she'll always want to wear a dress and if she is like Laura all she will ever want to wear is pink. Now I am not trying to sound like I don't want a girl I just have many concerns and worries. First, what if she is like me? Or what if she is the exact opposite? What will I ever do, I don't know about dancing, hair, makeup, you know the works. I am still coming to grips with the idea of having a girl. I know many people say girls are easy but my boys have been easy and I have never once done their hair. Yes, I am great at cutting their hair off but there is no combing in the morning or who cares if it is sticking up. Boys are easy. And just for all those who tell me girls are easy to potty train boys are easy just go pee out on the tires. New adventures await the Hepworths; not only with a new baby, but new house and new dog. What was I thinking. Oh baby is due July 1 and I know Jackie loves pregnant pictures and I am sure my mom would like them too but as of right now I am against the idea of putting pictures of me and my fat belly on the blog for all to see. How many people really want to see a fat Hannah?

More Floors

We are slowly but surely getting closer. I just have to keep telling myself that. Things never move as fast as I think they should. Allan is working really hard to get all the wood floors in hopefully today or tomorrow. I grouted the mudroom, and the two bathrooms. We need to finish the tile in the master bathroom before I can do the grouting. Poor Allan never has a break because as soon as he gets the wood floor done he has to get our shower ready to tile. But hopefully the painters will come next week and we can start hanging lights, door knobs, and all the finishing work.

Tile Floors

Does it ever seem to you nothing gets done as fast as you would like it to? That is how I feel with this house. I thought tiling would go pretty fast; three days tops. Well five days later the tile is done. Allan did a great job. I helped with what I could but I really didn't know how to do it so I just cut tile. Hopefully tomorrow we can start doing our hardwood floor and grout the tile. Now I with my thinking I want to be done in three days but nothing is never as fast as I think they should be.

No More Bottle

Well, that was until Alex got sick on Sunday. We were doing so good almost 7 days with no bottle and than he got sick. The only way that he would drink anything was with the bottle. But there is an upside to this. I will offer Alex a bottle and he will through it and take the sippy cup. So we did make progress, we just need to get him better now.
